The Bull Terrier is an excellent family dog.
The breed's shape contrasts with other terriers. The Bull Terrier is much more burly, he has an egg-shaped head and a Roman nose. He gives the impression of being ready for anything and is nicknamed the Gladiator of the Terriers, a description that fits him perfectly.

The official Standard does not speak of measurements but experts would accept around 45cm as reasonable, while 33+kg is no exaggeration of his weight.
.
The Bull Terrier is usually thought of as white, but even the white ones often have patches of red or black or brindle on their heads. He can also appear as black, red, fawn of brindle with a certain amount of white, mainly on his head, neck or limbs.
His coat is short and flat with a feel of harshness about it. He is simple to groom, by sponging the dirt off and then rubbing him down with a cloth.
He likes his exercise and food. He is a grand dog to have about the home because he loves people, but woe betide any burglar. As the result of deliberate training for illegal dog fighting he has wrongly been deemed dangerous. Once owned a Bullie as a family pet, you will always be a Bullie Lover.
